Yesterday I was out buying some vinyl, I still love the format. For me it's the best format for storing and listening music. I do like the digital era , don't get me wrong. But I always get confused when I think of the best way too store and backup it all. I regularly make backups but the size of the library is getting a bit big. Tried experimenting with compression methods and all that but too me it's still a hassle. My record collection is simply there , I know where everything is. Even if the records are new and I haven't yet stored them accurately.
On the digital side I have Traktor scratch pro which is an amazing piece of software. Making playlists and adding all the cue points (I think they are called cue points) , for me is hard work.
Deciding which records to take for me is easier. just go through the crates and that's it.
So if anyone has useful tips on how too manage the digital collection, please contact me. In the meantime I am out buying some more records.
